What does NFC actually mean?
NFC stands for Near Field Communication. It is the same short-range wireless technology your phone uses for contactless payments. An NFC chip needs no battery: it draws the tiny amount of power it needs from the phone's own radio field during the tap.
Inside every CardMitra card, the chip stores a single link — your permanent card address on cardmitra.com. CardMitra uses the chip for this link rather than storing the full profile on it.
What happens when someone taps the card?
The phone reads the link from the chip and opens it in the browser, exactly like opening a message link. Within a moment your CardMitra profile appears: your name, photo, role, phone number, WhatsApp, social profiles and any links you chose to show.
The visitor can save your contact card to their phone in one tap, or send you their own details, which land in your private CardMitra connections inbox and in your email.
What if the phone has no NFC?
Every CardMitra card also carries a printed QR code. A supported camera or QR scanner can open the same profile. Internet access is required; use a direct link if tapping or scanning is unavailable.
Why the link matters more than the chip
A CardMitra card points to a permanent card ID, not directly to your username. That means you can change your username, update your photo or rewrite your whole profile, and the printed card in someone's pocket still opens the right place. You never reprint because your details changed.
